Nature stuff - plants, animals, birds, frogs, fish, you name it...basically anything you can find in a diverse backyard. I like bird watching and observing nature stuff. It's facinating to me.
Music - unusual time signatures, chords, phrasing, tempos, syncopation, harmonies...anything out of the ordinary that still retains it's musical quality. Complex modern sounds. It's the best listening to great music with someone who shares the same interests and can play or sing the music along with me.
Animals - mainly the difference between animal interactions with someone on the autism spectrum and an NT. Why don't they understand animals? Animals have no problem with communicating. Observing an NT handler vs an AS handler is like night and day. The animals even look different...and definitley behave differently.
Philosophy - Sexuality (bi/gay/straight/etc), religion, reality, free will...but politics don't always interest me. I'm not interested in the war because it depresses me soley because of it's shaky platform it's trying to use as justification.
Nutrition/Food/Cooking - I love cooking. I love to eat my cooking. I love my cooking to be healthy and flavorful. Yum. Garlic is the best ever. I'm becoming more vegetarian as I get older. I've decided not to eat chicken or meat (anything that was originally on 4 legs) any more frequently than 1-2 times a week. Fish can be good every day.
Beer - I love beer...good beer, not the cheap stuff. Today's flavor is Skinny Dip (New Belguim Brewing Co)
Horses - I know a lot about horses...a former obsession, but I am full of knowledge on riding, bridles, bits, saddles, balance and movement of the horse. At one point I could draw free hand the entire skeletal and muscle structure of a horse. I'd love to continue riding and have a horse again...not enough time and money now.
Reading - I am a reader. I don't remember ever not knowing how to read. I enjoy some fiction, lately it's been books about drug culture...similar to Alice in Wonderland (which is a freaky book). My latest books I have read in the last couple of months (May & June) have been:
Life of Pi (Yann Martel) - About a boy in a lifeboat with a tiger.
Gone with the Wind (Margaret Mitchell) - A long book, but it's incredible. Every time I read it, I'm always surprised at what happens. This is the best book ever written.
Trainspotting (Irving Welsh) - A cool book. It's written in several dialects (Scottish). It took me twice to really understand what was really going on.
Porno (Irving Welsh) - The follow on to Trainspotting. I finished this last night.
Fear and Loathing in Los Vegas (Hunter S Thompson) - I'm on Chapter 3 right now. This book is insane. The movie scared the crap out of me...but in a good way.
That's all I can think of today.
