Strange Communication

I recently met an NT friend of the opposite sex and he seemed to be interested in getting together sometime as a friend. However, he seemed to be the most interested in another one of my female friends on the spectrum. Although they have not been dating, he seems to talk to her on the phone all the time and happens to tell her whether or not he can attend for me even though I am the hostess and invite him automatically.

What does anyone make of this type of communication?

this sounds like a part of 'the game' NT's tend to use (i've read it too, i just hate the whole concept of it )
as i see it trough what you wrote, he is in the fase: get to know the friend first. this doesn't make any sense to me either, but apperantly this is how it's 'supposed' to be done.
