i have problems expressing myself, like many people with autism spectrum disorder (i'm borderline perhaps; or severe, occasionally; i have gone months without talking, or longer; but am sporadic and just about normal other times) because my thoughts can come in an an instant and be very non verbal. like this thought is an instant, i'm trying to turn it into a series of pictures. words take longer. still they are not enough. even telepathy can fail because we are dissimilar ; it requires a common frame of reference to communicate an idea or train of thought. this is why even when someone understands something very clearly, it is often difficult or impossible to explain to someone else; they need to share a common reference frame. and the information to be communicated, itself measures the distance between their reference frames. i understand this phenomenon, and can use it; but to explain it is nigh unto impossible. to summarize, it is known as 'making time'.... when two people (or many) talk, the interaction between them is like a bank, and the connection is money; time is money in the bank; the interest.
i'm duplicating an illustration of my communication translation process; and why i sometimes have difficulty; but the process is enjoyable; it takes time; and makes time; but sometimes it's hard to get the balance between taking and making, and make an interesting communication between people. anyway. my thought thrain 'started' with an article i saw on yahoo news, rocks are falling from mars. then to explain; things can get blown off low gravity planets and fall to earth. but things get burnt up when they fall to earth. have to be within a block of ice. comets are a block of ice. but it gets so difficult to explain in words which is why i want to use pictures. so lemme see if i can attach pictures here. i guess video communication, i could just make and post a video on youtube; but i'm still working on getting the computer to record my self-created video streams as i view them; it can be done, but it's a bit difficult. i had a friend who used to be an expert; but alas he is deceased. anyway my picutres, if i can, i will post as links to follow up on this; seeing if i can duplicate a facebook post here, since i can't seem to post a link to a specific facebook thread.
this relates to 'social skills and making friends' as follows: the deeper the idea or conversation between people; the better friends they can be; but communication is saying and listening; at the same time; so when it gets really deep, and you want to be friends and share 'deep thoughts' the language challenge increases. language fails; but then how do we communicate? how do we build these deep friendships? it's a difficult skill; i'm still working on it. perhaps you are too. shallow only goes so far. eventually we crave the deep waters; and how do we swim there together?

Chris Gregory "let there be fish"... and the fish were tasty, and they roasted them, and ate. let there be lunch. and it was good.
... well lets see how that comes out...

You would likely enjoy the book "The book of the damned" by Charles Fort, where he wrote humourously and at length about things falling from the sky.
Here's a link to an e-version. link

Charles Fort, of the 'Fortean' movement fame? Cool, I've never actually read any of his original material. Though I had a remixed version I got at an underground bookstore that had bits and pieces. Thanks SO much for the link.
To continue with the visual imagery link thing:

From your link text "The Book of the Damned"
"The aggregate appearance is of dignity and dissoluteness: the aggregate voice is a defiant prayer: but the spirit of the whole is processional.
The power that has said to all these things that they are damned, is Dogmatic Science."
I wrote another text/image/link thread today (on FB and slightly differently on my tumblr) that seems to relate. My basic point is pretty similar to what Fort is saying at the beginning of the book. To summarize "The excluded middle is a fallacy; as traditional logic is built and depends upon the principle of the excluded middle, the whole of the edifice, and all that is built upon it, is inherently fallacious, according to its own rules". There's a resolution to the paradox somewhere but it's easier just to use logic that does not exclude the middle third. Which is sort of how I started my post. It all related back to economics and the law. Anyway. I think nonverbally in something like abstract mathematics, and try to translate back to a language that humans normally use 'conversation' but my skill at doing this is a work in progress. Here's my link to the tumblr post; I'm not going to try to translate this to wrongplanet forum, it was a bit of work on the original post above. Oh, the 'my weird dream' follows. I think dreams may come from the future, and make sense, when we read our lives in reverse. But, I'm not sure. Anyways...

Actually I had a weird dream that may relate. My dreams are frequently cryptic until years or decades later; but I ultimately have found almost all of them to pertain to something important that comes up later in my life.
I was following in a land whose Earth was a sea of bones a procession of the damned, led by Satan. I was just following out of curiousity; they were going about killing people as they went; or maybe everyone was dead already; I'm not really sure. I did have a katana in my hand so maybe I had taken part in the sport; who knows? Chained to a sword stuck into the Earth, on a mound in the center of the swirling sea of bones, was Jesus, looking lost and forlorn. I parted from the procession; and addressing him, released him; I said "you are free to go now, just get up and go dude". He looked at me like he had no idea what I was talking about or it didn't make sense to him.
I wrote the dream down; I have written down tons over the years; so I may have a more original version somewhere. But anyways, it seems to relate somehow to Fort's book and what he was writing about.
The conventional, mundane, science, world of the rational, of the real; is a faith; and has slain the children of the magical universe(s). Someday I suppose it will be time for the tide to turn; as such things happen over and over again through time.
I wish folks would learn to get along; but so few of the adherents of science and reality realize it is a faith, and as dogmatic, cruel, and ultimately irrational and unreasoning as any other.
Thanks again; this looks like a really good read.
