Does anyone know anywhere on the internet where it is good to chat to people and make new friends? I've tried quite a few in the past, and had some luck back then. But upon returning back to the "scene", the only time anyone replies or sends me a message is some scammer trying to get me to sign up to a camming site (their emotional bribery just doesn't work).
I have no friends.
The relationship with my gf is dull.
I'm distant from my family.
And I'm at my wits end.
I may as well be on a desert island, with a football...

This forum is a start.

I find it difficult to talk to people online. I always think 'whats the point' and the delete my post. I've purposefully not this time. I feel foolish.

Hi there.. You can pm me if you want to. I would like to have some online friends too and I always reply. I feel quite similar and I'd be glad if we can chat. Just write if you feel like it :)

Online friends.

I got way too many of those. I need to get some IRL ones.

Agree, I am slowly making the move from online to offline and although I have issues with anxiety, I force myself to go to things and end up having a good time in some way.

It is what makes you comfortable.

I'd suggest working on ways to get your relationship with your GF back into the exciting.

Online friends are cool and all, but it's better to have real ones.
I visit a few sites pertaining to my interests.
I've met some of the coolest people ever on these sites.
I love all my online guys and gals, but I don't even know what half of them look like.
I recommend purchasing a IRC client like MIRC or finding a free browser based one.
I've noticed that wrong planet has it's own #channel.
Just about any subject you can imagine has a channel dedicated to it.
Basically forums like this, IRC rooms, and online gaming are the best ways to make online friends.
I don't really know anyone in my life beside my family anymore, so having people to talk on the internet has really helped.
I think some of my online friends know more about me than anyone.
If you play music, or have any sort of hobby; join a forum for it.
Xbox Live, PSN, and Steam aren't great for making friends to talk to but you can play vidya together which passes the time.

Like people have said, this place is a good start. I'm sure you'll find someway to socialize.
