Ok cool.

Right now I'm just focusing this meet not subsequent meets, it is too early to be focusing on that.

As far as I'm concerned, I'd welcome anyone who wanted to come. Obviously I'm polling WP, members and will be in contact with them directly. I think that is a good basis for dates and venues.

We are getting near asking everyone for their input regarding venues and so forth.

The first thing I suggest is the choosing an initial venue, and working things out from there. From the survey, pretty much universally popular was just a general meeting area, that we can meet up sit down and chat, which is public but we can a find a place out of the way.

Generally you want these to be near a main transport hub, but don't let that stop you making a suggestion anyway. Such a venue doesn't have to go together with an activity, even if there are activities going on a these places.

So with that in I mind I have some suggestions:

Image
1. South Bank Centre - this was the choice for a previous meetup, and even if there is stuff on, you can find area out of the way. Last time we found some tables in one corner of the bottom floor.
Image
2. Barbarian Centre - this is similar sort of deal, and the brutalist architecture, like the South Bank (whether or not you like it) has the effect of allowing for meeting point options, out of the way. It tend to be slightly less busy, but it depends. It it probably a little less connected as the south bank, Liverpool street is still a terminal like Waterloo.
Image
3. The BritishLibrary. Sssh! I'm not talking about discussing literature, however in wedged between two major transport hubs, it might be an option, and there is probably good meeting places the we could meet in or around.

South Bank Centre is best for me, as I come in at Waterloo. It is quite a pleasant and relaxing place, I have always found, especially the National.

I like the South Bank - it's close to me, and it's usually interesting.
The gallery at the top of the Festival Hall is quite pleasant, if it's not too busy or windy.

Cool, that's settled then.

We are meeting up Sunday 1st of March, thank to those that voted. For those that can do the 21st, sorry about that, there is always next time.

I think we will go with the South Bank Centre, from the feedback. It is a good venue, that has been used before and has adaptability for our needs.

Here are a bunch of access maps
http://www.southbankcentre.co.uk/visito ... ccess-maps

I suggest we meet in the foyer of the National theater. Last time I used an orange in the middle of the table. There used to be a lesser used entrance past the main entrance that was good meeting point, due to re-development I'm not sure if you can still access it, but regardless I will provide a mobile number you can ring, and I will find you.

Before hand there will also be a meeting point at the platform 1 end of Waterloo station.

http://www.networkrail.co.uk/LondonWate ... ionMap.pdf

See kiosk 40, perpendicular to platform 1. That would be the first meeting point, and hope to stay there approx 30 minutes. There is a way of walking on the outside of the station, avoiding that the central hall business.

There are also step free access routes to the National.

Please let me know which meeting point you prefer.

Exact times still to be decided.

Confirmed

This is a reminder that there is a Meet Up being held on Sunday 1st of March starting in South Bank area.

The first rendezvous is Waterloo Station at 13:00, the next is 13:30 inside the entrance of the National Theatre at 13:30.

Waterloo Station we will be meeting nr. platform 1:

If you want to avoid the crowded centre you can walk in outside of the of the building, that is what I do. You can see on the map the various openings to the station.

Waterloo East is a different station, but connected. The Underground station has at least two exits, make sure you choose the train station exit.

The National Theatre we are meeting inside this entrance:

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I will be holding an orange (the fruit), or if you come late it will be at the centre of a table we are sitting on.
If you need to make other arrangements let me know.
Don't worry about bringing your own drink/snacks, shouldn't be an issue. You can get tea and snacks there too. Later on we may find somewhere to eat depending on what people want to do.
We will stay in the National at least an hour and then most likely move on either down the river, such as to the Globe Theatre / Tate Modern OR crossing the river to Westminster and the parks. It really depends what the group fancies.
I'm happy to field concerns, and questions. Just, I won't be chasing people this week. It is up to the individual to contact me.
I can't come to this unfortunately; it's too far away.
I hope you all enjoy yourselves at the meet up though.
