Hi,

I'm not sure whether this should be in the work forum or not but if I'm wrong please tell me.

My colleagues always organise birthday meals for people having "special" birthdays, e.g. 21, 30, 40 etc. Unfortunately soon I'm having a "special" birthday so a birthday meal is being organised for me, with everyone at work invited. I really like my colleagues and I don't want to seem antisocial, but I really don't want to go! Right now I'm either thinking I just go and put up with it (it's likely it won't be on my actual birthday, but my birthday weekend) or I say no, and people will be disappointed since they like these meals. I really don't want to seem rude if I do say no since I like my coworkers so much, but I also think it's pretty petty to say no since they're just being nice. Does anyone have any advice please? Thank you :)

Nice colleagues willing to pay for my lunch or dinner? :D
As for me, I would go, and enjoy myself. 8)
And if it's not my birthday, we could all celebrate my unbirthday. :)

I guess we're all different.

Follow your heart
and
Have a Happy Birthday! :D
