I am not, but I feel your pain. I am from Western New York, a part of the state that is totally different from New York City, and is totally neglected.

What, you've got something against Bonney Lake, Sumner, Puyallup, Lakewood, Steilacoom, Spanaway, Eatonville, Orting, Roy, Tukwila, Renton, Bellevue...? :)

 HAHA :)
i used to live in Spanaway, and i know that it is NOT a city but a town which is part of unincorporated Pierce County. it tried to become a city several times but was voted down each time, as too many citizens therein knew that cityhood would only mean more "revenue collection agents" [speed cops] and little more.

You seem to be excluding anything on the east side of Puget Sound. Wonder why? I mean, Seattle proper cannot be considered central Washington. I think if it's west of the Cascades, that's definitely Western Washington.

That being said, I don't live there. I lived in and around Seattle for a decade in the 80s, though. I clicked on this thread for a nostalgia trip. :) Lived in Seattle proper, Shoreline (just north of Seattle), and Bellevue. Oh, also Ballard. (Technically a neighborhood of Seattle - but somehow its own place.)

We often visited with relatives in Everett, Lynnwood, and Sequim. Caught Dungeness crabs in the water at Sequim!

^^^did you consider living in sequim? popular retiree destination, very little precip compared to the rest of the state. I perhaps shortsightedly left out the east because it is such a LOOOOoooonnnnnggg drive over the mountains and across the plains to get to places like Spokane and Walla Walla and such. if I could change it i'd make it ALL of Washington.

Sequim is prolly the northernmost area in CONUS that has two growing seasons, due to the 300 days [average] of sunshine each year. they have an irrigation festival there because of the relative paucity of rain up there.

kraftiekortie - what??

We used to drive out in the country sometimes and stop at a small town called Snohomish that had a wonderful creamery with the best ice cream, in generous servings on a cone ... but you couldn't have known that, could you?
