Biting the Bullet
Becoming a pilot is few of my dream careers.
However, it's not my number one prioritized career due to a few cons such as the very long hours and the unexpected schedules. Also you are likely to miss out on holidays and not spend as much time with loved ones.
A friend of mine suggested I could become a flight attendant that way I can dip my toes into the aviation industry. To see whether I can tolerate the aforementioned cons or not.
My hesitation is the socializing aspect of the job. I've wondered is it like retail or customer service expect in the air? Not that I ever worked in those industries but I have heard so many horror stories in regards of dealing with cranky customers. It shouldn't be too bad since the passengers are probably going to ask for food or something.
Well, I am probably overthinking this and it's least likely I will ever become a flight attendant anyways. The closest major airline near my area is SeaTac which is like a 2 hour drive and I am not sure if I can make the commute.
