All right, I have the distinct problem of staring directly at objects that interest me. In a setting with all males, this opposes no problem, as they are not my objects of interest. However, as I go to anime club and the like, I find I am surrounded by members of the opposite sex, which DO attract my interest. I suppose its already well known at this club, my penchant for staring, and I did inform one of the members (a girl as well, I just told her I had a problem with my eyes and didn't elaborate). If I started wearing sunglasses at this point in this club, I suppose everyone would already know why. However, in future social settings, especially ones with girls, perhaps wearing sunglasses could be an option. Any insight?

The eyes have it topic

You have given me a great idea, daveybaby. I do not like a lot of eye contact (this may be the opposite of your concern) and so wearing sunglasses(clip ons for me) would solve this. Light does hurt my eyes, especially strobes.

I would just tell them the light hurts my eyes. Show the ladies what your eyes look like, then put the glasses back on. If these are compassionate ladies they will understand. Problem solved. :D

Good luck.

The downside is that people who wear sunglasses indoors can come across as creepy. I think it's a lack of communication through the eyes, making you seem more distant, less trustworthy even.

I feel positively naked without my sunglasses indoors or out. I wear a cheap pair from my local Dollar store. Sort of an aviator frame with yellow tinted lenses, they look prescription so I get away with it. My all time faves are RayBan Wayfarer frames. That brown tortoiseshell frame is perfection for me.
My eldest sister told me recently that she remembers me as a young child who didn't like to leave the house because I told her that I didn't like the sun(this was like 4 years old mind you). I replied it wasn't the sun, I love the sun, it was the light that hurt my eyes.
