Where were you during the fall of the Berlin Wall, the talks that ended apartheid, the slow progress of the Internet, and the tragedies of Tiananmen Square and the Exxon Valdez? I was still a baby, sleeping in my Santa Cruz home which was shaking with the rest of the town during the Loma Prieta earthquake.

^^ I believe this is very dependent upon which little part of the year for myself. ^^ I was born on 25th September 1989. ^^ Thus, I was perhaps either within my mother's tummy living within Yorkshire, or a very young baby additionally living within Yorkshire. ^^ I am very sorry however as I am not certain of the dates of the events in question.

College and working.

1989 was an eventful year. Much different than the events of 1979.

I wasn't born yet. :(

I was born too late, into a world that doesn't care, oh I wish I were a punk rocker with flowers in my hair...

Also it was the year of the Caracanza in Venezuela and the FMLN's push on San Salvador. Namibia became independent as a result of 1988's Battle of Cuito Cuanavale when the Cubans defeated the South Africans. These were tendencies that seemed to contradict the dominant narrative.

Late 1989 also featured the U.S. invasion of Panama. In the summer, the "war on drugs" hysteria started up again as preparation for that. It's no surprise that the Bond movie of that summer, Licence to Kill, dealt with this subject.

By the way, on this day in 1991, a key event in the march to war in Yugoslavia happened - Slovenia and Croatia declared independence.

Working as a rock radio disc jockey, and watching it all on the control room TV monitor.

For that matter, I still have the AP news wire copy that I tore off one of those old-fashioned noisy news tickers the night of October 20th, 1977 that first told the story of Lynyrd Skynyrd's fatal plane crash. In a station in Sweet Home Alabama. That was five months after I graduated High School.

I was in pre-k. As a matter of fact, I do remember my teacher trying to explain to us that the Berlin wall had been finally torn down. Though I didn't understand what the hell she was talking about at the time.

I was in my hellish junior high having a not very good time. I dont remember all that revolution and stuff happening. My parents saw the Berlin Wall in the 70s though when they were travelling.
