I notice everything around me too. People usually comment at me intensely staring at things.
I especially love watching the ocean.

I'm constantly looking at the world around me when I'm out, I notice beautiful colours that go well together, planes flying over, the clouds, the roofs of buildings etc... it makes me feel comforted, I think because I'm focusing on the world around me and not the confusion that's often inside me. Sometimes I can get great joy out of a 'boring' object like a postbox if I like the colour or shape...

When I'm most happiest and relaxed is when I'm in a train and watching the world go by through the window. So many interesting colours, objects, clouds and other things to look at!

Anyone the same or similar to me? I've noticed most NT's just walk along blankly and seem to be in too much of a rush to appreciate what's around them.

I do that mostly when Im walking on the trails and walking by the Red Deer River.Red Deer is really nice. The trails are a great place for an aspie like myself to walk and listen to my iPod and look at the nice trees, the hidden swamps in the bushy vallies, the natura beauty, the wildlife such as birds and squirrells, and the smell of nature in a mix of pine and deciduos trees and earth. The smell of nature is a sweet inviting smell. The smell of the river is also a sweet smell as well. With the mix of morning dew, the steady flowing river, and the plants and trees, the trails by the river are most inviting in the early morning hours when all is peaceful and at its best.

No. When I'm outside I kind of walk around blindly because of the sun. It hurts my eyes, even though I like being outside.

Indoors however is a different story. I seem to fixate on looking at the ceiling and floor patterns. How high the ceiling is especially. I always want to stand on something super tall so I can be connected to the floor and touch the ceiling. I also like looking at the different kinds of doors. I don't like automatic doors though.

When I'm in stores I like looking at all the different items so the store is my favorite place in the world to go. :P One day when I'm older I'm going to spend a day in a store readin' all the packaging on the items. I also have this kind of obsession with figuring out how to steal items and which would be easiest. I think I'd make a list of that as well.

Yesterday i was in the break room at work and one of the many flies in the building landed on my shoulder. I just stared at it and watched it stand there. I think it was cleaning itself or something. It was rubbing its' legs with its' other legs, and even lifted up its' wings with its' feet and cleaned under them, or massaged its' back or whatever it was doing.. All while it was standing on my shoulder. Then it flew away. I think the other people in there were probably wondering why i was staring at my shoulder, but whatever. So, yeah, i guess i do.

Yes!

I think forests are awesome to walk through. Especially damp forests with lots of moss, spider webs, rotting logs, tangled roots, and soft spongy soil.

Types of stuff I like looking at...

I love flying in planes and looking down at how small the world is, all of the little ants as cars, imagining what life would be like for the guy that owns the funny-shaped farmland, etc.

If I come home enough late in the evenings, we have a general night bus that has no route: it just drives around specifically to drop off people at their doorstep. I really like to look out the window on this bus, because you never know which backroads and housing subdivisions you're going to go through. And chances are good that I won't have been through all of them before, and that's a very exciting thing for me.

I think many people NT enjoy doing this, too.

Cracks in the sidewalk, when I go walking in the neighborhood.

As I just mentioned on another thread, I live alone in the woods. When out in the woods, I notice all sorts of beautiful things, including all kinds of flora and fauna and beautiful colors. To me, it is extraordinary, especially when I am in the right mood. Since other people don't seem to want to live like this, I suppose they don't see what I do.

I totally relate to this. I live in the remote high desert on a large acreage and am completely at home way out here with nature and my critters. (Fortunately my one friend, my husband, loves the hermit life as much as I do.) I bask in the natural beauty all around me. Even when I'm inside the house I'm surrounded by big windows that constantly bring that natural world in to me.

Exactly! I live a few miles from "the wild" and hike or run trails damn near every day. My goal is to learn the name/life story of every animal/plant/rock/landform I see. Immersing myself totally in their world is a double treat for me. I get to sample other lifeforms and I temporarily turn off my own ruminations in an area of exquisite beauty. Very rewarding!

Also, when traveling, I will sometimes see a little town or even a particular house and imagine what it would be like to be a person living a lifetime in that place, sometimes in other historical eras. I am less than patient when my husband persists in trying to converse with me while I'm telling myself these stories.

After nearly a decade of geocaching I am always looking for the tiny detail that doesn't quite belong. We have a brilliant cache hider in this area, and she has trained my eye in a way I can't turn off.

I always notice marks on the pavement that make it look uneven. This is probably because I'm always look down trying to avoid the satellite.

I'm always looking around, even on familiar journeys, trying to see things in different ways.
If I'm out walking I sometimes imagine I'm in a plane and the ground is thousands of feet
below me :) . I've also started noticing the slight gradients I'm travelling up and down, whereas
sometimes in the past I've simply assumed I'm on level ground because that's what I
conditioned myself to think.

Oh, you've gotta try a tin-foil hat like mine (see avatar). Keeps out the satellite waves and those annoying mind-reading government scanners that they put in every signal light. Plus it's great if you end up with leftovers and have run out of containers to keep them in. Just unroll and --- presto!

One thing I've found as well is that some people find it odd that I can get just as much pleasure from a walk around various streets as I can at a park or river. Why not when there's so much to look at? Building designs, peoples gardens, the different colours of the cars, cats etc... :)
