Fireworks?

A bunch of guys are setting a ton of big fireworks and this is the first time we have dealt with them this close and the kid is getting overstimulated. I've had him put on his MP3 player kind of loud. Any other suggestions? (Cops aren't an option they won't respond here.)

Ear muffs, or ear plugs, or both. They sell them at every hardware store.

Personally I like the loud boom ones because those hit you with a low pitched THUD. I like low pitched sounds. The ones that annoy me are the high pitched screamers. AGH those hurt.

I have a pair of ear protecors for my son the kind someone who works on aircarft would use they work well for things like fireworks. At home late on july fourth you might want to try putting him in the shower for a while the warm water and rain like sound might clam him down.
