Hi.
=]

Photosapian here, introducing myself.
I'm eighteen, and a newly diagnosed Aspie. I somehow managed to make it eighteen years, undiagnosed, coping my own ways to things which I thought made me a freak, without bashing my head through the wall. *rimshot*

Needless to say, I'm happy for the diagnosis-I no longer feel like I'm losing my mind. It's nice to finally have a name for my....eccentricities.

Anyway, feel free to pm me for more info...or if you need insight to a female teenage Aspie's mind. I'm extremely self aware, and tend to be very...correct [for lack of a better term] in what I say, or my insight.

~photosapian~

Hi, welcome. And congrats on your diagnosis. I can relate to that feelingof always having made it through life your own way and then finding out you aren't a freak after all.

Welcome to WP and life as an Aspie. Insight into any mind is always tempting, since I seem to lack that.

welcome. i'm new too. just registered a few hours ago in fact. and this place and how i can relate to it fascinates me to no end. i've only been recently coping with a formal diagnosis also.

i'm curious btw, no pictures?
but then i guess alot of people on here would rather hide behind an avatar of some kind

Thank you, to all, for the warm reception.
ViperaAspis, yes you may.
Seanmw-It seems we have a few things in common. As for your question about a picture-it is coming soon.

ArtKItten, it seems you're stronger than I.
I probably would have lost my mind had I not have had a name to put to my....lack of...normality.

Maaaan, I copy that feeling. I nearly did lose it. Imagine finding out at 40! Gakk! I could never figure out why until AS came along. When it came to fitting in, I tried everything. I tried hard, I tried not trying hard, and then finally found some success with copying others and scripting some of my behaviors.

Still, it was better to find out at 40 than to never find out. Many people here are like me. Never ran into that before.

Anyway... so why did you pick your moniker. Does it refer to your memory or are you a shutterbug? Or is it something else entirely?

I wish I had known about my AS when I was that young. :)
