The relative anonymity of the internet is comforting I think. I imagine a lot of people were judged unjustly based on their appearance in real life. Here you can be judged on the merit of your words instead of your hair cut, glasses and lucky or unlucky genetics,

Since the brain is the only human part left of a Cyberman, remind me to post a picture the next time I have an MRI exam...

I'll probably change mine as often as I change my desktop. Which is frequently. As a matter of fact, I think I'll do it now.

Not exactly as shown topic

No point in a real picture of me.

It will never happen here.

My avatar gives a better picture of my attitude toward life than a picture of me would. For anyone who's desperate to know what I look like, below is a picture of me not making eye contact with my webcam.

I'm paranoid that if I have a picture of myself on here as an avatar, someone I know might discover it, find out I have Asperger's and exploit it, as well as bully me. That's why I post one in a post, and keep it that way.

I'm not good at things with pictures on the net, but I have an avatar with my own picture on a forum I moderate.

http://jesusnet.dk/cafethomas/forum/ubb ... d/7/page/1

The picture is from 2002, but I still look the same way. :)

I use the introverted animaated boy to the left as my avatar, because he represents me in almost every way possible, the few differences is that i am some more friendly, and more open.

It depends on my mood and what's going on in my life. Sometimes I have a pic of myself (like now), sometimes I don't. I switch it up. That pic is pretty recent...as in I just took it 4 days ago.

I'm like you though, I like to see who I'm talking too. 8)

Yeah, it is a privacy and confidentiality issue.

Im incredible ugly and almost impossible to get good on photos, besides I have social phobia and are terrified that I would be recognised by someone.

To bring on photos of myself, either as avatar or in a photothread would emediately kill my la76666666666666666uy777777777777754¨´3333333
freedom of beeing entirely myself and relaxed in a safe anonymous way

btw, if you wonder what that numbers above is about I can say its a cats work. I had a cat in my lap and he stepped up and walked the keyboard. My own cat has never done that and probably never will so I wanted to keep it as "souvenir"....

I don't like using my real name (although my name that is listed in my profile is a variation of my real name) or my photo on the internet because I was bullied a lot at school. If someone types my name in and finds me... well that's my guise destroyed. On other sites (Facebook for example) you can have a larger avatar and you can make a picture of yourself as a South Park character!

yeah privacy is an issue and leaving a digital foot print is probably not a good thing
