A degree in my opinion is not a measure of intelligence.
A lot of AS/NT people are not good with words and curse etc. in the heat of the moment when the feel attacked , so they are all idiots?

True, people with high degrees have caused much damage to society. And true again, many people are not good with words when angry. It's her consistent "it's- true-because-I-know-it's-true" mantra without any hard evidence to back it that makes her an idiot. It's responding to all inquiries by shouting "Vaccines did it, vaccines did it.!I know because my son was fine before vaccines and something changed after!" There's no debating with someone who is already convinced they are right and every one who believes something contrary to their beliefs is wrong--but don't take my word for it. Watch some of her press releases, read her book louder than words, make your own decision.

So there's my two cents, but money's only paper. You decide what it's worth.

I have no problem with this opinion because you did not make references to her body parts, occupation or where she got her education from.
Take Care!

For what it's worth Biene, I do not think you are a troll and I think it's disgusting that people are jumping all over you for your views and opinions. I don't think you wrote your original post or started this thread to incite members of Wrong Planet. Your opinions are unpopular, but so what. I'm not a curebie myself, but I have an open mind and like to hear all sides of a story. Bullying someone who has a different point of view, which is what is happening to you on this thread and another that I stumbled upon, is not okay in my book. In my opinion, you are being gang banged and it stinks. I don't give a fig what Jenny does or does not do, she has her opinions and she's entitled to them. Saying that she or anyone else got their degree from Google is the height of arrogance and elitism. This whole episode makes me sick. I would like to say more, but frankly, I know that if I do I will be put on the s**t list for defending you, even though i don't agree with you at all. I will defend your right to say it. Are WP members becoming such wimps that they have to go running to the mods screaming troll every time someone with a different or unusual point of view expresses it in a post or a thread? Are the mods becoming the gestapo around here? Power tripping? Seems like that to me from what I've been reading. I'm beginning to feel like this place is going to s**t. When members start feeling threatened and become reticent to speak their mind for fear of being called a troll or getting banned - that's pretty damned sad. Can you tell I'm pissed?

Hey, the only problem I have with her opinion is that it's a polar opposite of mine. If she wants to say it regardless of the mountain of evidence pertaining to the contrary, she has that right, I'm not gonna stop her. Disagree with her every step of the way I would, but nopt stop her from disagreeing with me.

I would agree that thanks to Autism Speaks regular policy of screwing us over at every possible opportunity, we tend to hold a streak of intolerance to their supporters. However, remember that this forum is supposed to be open to everyone regardless of their affiliation. If she want to say that the sun shines out of Jenny McCarthy's every orifice, that's her right, we cant stop her. Besides, it would be more effective if we beat her at reasoned debate rather than completely shutting off her viewpoint.

I don't want WP to mirror what's happening to the USA. We're getting paranoid, just like Uncle Sam, so lets stop while we still have Amendment 1.

You gotta remember why such accusations are lobbed, though - A troll has many tools, but the most used one is using stupid arguments and bad logic. In the same way, trolls will latch on to more complex issues like pseudo-science because it's always based on these two things, and opponents of it can get whipped up into a frenzy over it. If you don't assume good faith, it's easy to see how bad logic and arguments can be misconstrued as plain and simple trolling. A lovely little example:

Person A: evilution is a lie becos nothing has ever evolvd and only a liberal would believe it lol
Person B: But I'm a conservative and I believe it. Also, we have actually seen things evolve, if you look at.....
Person A: yeah right a real conservative wouldnt call teh troops monkeys u traitor
Person B: ......

That's true, she stands up and fights for what she believes in, and people often see that as a virtue.

That's true.

It is easy to bash people when one has nothing else to do besides spending endless hoers a day on the computer.

That's true, but that is about anything, including posting whatever you please on an internet forum.

You gotta be kidding. Stupid arguments and bad logic? With that for a measuring stick, 75% of the world is populated by trolls.

Calling this person a troll is nonsense and weak. You don't have agree with her. It is bad for advocacy, to operate in this way.

As for provocation if you take that line then it easily goes both ways, by this standard.

In moderator position I would take issue with how this has been handled. It is up to the current moderators to deliberate.

Maybe her kid does well because he's gluten free.

The gluten free diet has been proven to be helpful to many people with ADHD, Autism, ADD, mood disorders ect.

It works well for me, I am still an Aspie but I don't get plagued by some of the things that used to cause me to have lots of anxiety.

It more than likely works because people with Asperger's have a greater incidence of Celiac disease. The EVIL SOCIALIST MEDICAL ESTABLISHMENT OF CANADA™ diagnosed me as having Celiac in 2004 and since then I've been on a Gluten Free Diet - it's certainly improved my growth.

Notice how medical professionals and not New Age quacks were involved in my gluten free diet?

No, she's not talking about her kid, but another kid she knows (read the post at the top there). Her son gets shots and seems better after them, although one of the more recent ones gave him seizures and scared her.

he is not on any Jenny Mc Carthy recommended diet, he just eats healthy.
I just started that thread because of another thread I found rather appalling :"Jenny McCarthy - The Doctors".
I said I do know of a boy with Asperger's Syndrome ( he went to my sons school) who is on a gluten free diet, according to his mom he throw tantrums at school and after she put him on this diet he was functioning better and had not to be given any medication.
My son is NOT on a gluten free diet, I never said or wrote this. My son does not get any shots of any sorts, vaccination or otherwise.
I am by all means no fan, friend etc. of Jenny mc Carthy, but she did a lot of good things for a lot of people who feel their children are doing better and that is a fact.

You quoted the wrong post here. The person thinking your kid was on the gluten-free diet was the post above mine. Either that or there is a reading/comprehension disconnect. Statements about your child's shots/seizures and his later reaction are taken directly from your own previous posts.

Regarding trolling:
As for trolling accusations, I trust and support the moderators. They would not take this stance unless there was ample evidence supporting it. I do not have access to this evidence, therefore I have no basis to sit in judgment of their decision. Public humiliation was the tool used and it seems to have worked; the overall tone of Biene's posts has improved since then.

Regarding people disagreeing/jumping on Biene:
This is the politics forum, an area for debate and high emotion. People will disagree here. Often vehemently. The initial post was written in an inflammatory way. Some have responded in kind. This has caused the more caring of us to swoop in and defend. I would say that, based on the initial post and Biene's posting history, she does not seem to need defense and is encouraging this discussion.

But please form your own opinion. Click on Biene's username and examine her previous posts to determine for yourselves the agenda of this person. The ones she hasn't deleted or altered, that is.

I will take her book with a grain of gluten.
