Patrick Swayze died of pancreatic cancer. He was 57 years old.

RIP Patrick. You will be missed dearly. Road House is and shall forever remain the film that is dearest to my heart, and everything I've heard about him suggests that he was a good person and a real class act. My thoughts and prayers are with his family.

A man of integrity and class. To the very end dedicated to his craft. He refused painkillers when on the set of his final work The Beast because he thought it would get in the way of his performance.

Does anyone else notice that 2009 seems to be a year of an unusually high number of notable deaths? Can any of you amateur numerologists or astrologers say for sure?

I remember the M*A*S*H episode in which he plays a soldier who finds out he has terminal cancer.
