I think this is more common than people realise. I am still best friends with my ex from high school who I believe is an undiagnosed aspie. His mum, who works with aspie kids, was the first to point it out. My other close friend from college, with whom I shared my special interests, is now my boyfriend and I believe him to be an aspie too. The three of us hang out talking in neologisms, giving long monologues about transport (my friend), technology, the military and cars (my boyfriend) and television and film (me), avoiding the general population because we all find them confusing, overwhelming and unfair. I am the only one who has had my Asperger's recognised by a professional (my counseller at uni pointed it out and then I went to the learning centre where they did a little test and said I had the traits) but none of us have official diagnosis's. We are all pursuing them.
