It is a little over a months since I discovered that I have AS.

It has been a time of reflection, confusion and surprise.

I feel like an Apie-Neo who has been unplugged from an Autistic Matrix and is now adapting to the 'real' world.

The scene where Neo is told that his muscles are being rebuilt and that his eyes hurt because he has never used them before aren't metaphors to me any more. This is exactly how it is for me at the moment.

I have just read about the impact of AS on relationships and I cried today as I realised with horror how my condition has affected my wife and children.

This is balanced somewhat by my gratitude for finally discovering what I really am and the knowledge that I can and will be a better person............with some hard work.............

What is your experience of being unplugged?
