I heard about that, and I thought it was awesome! I can really see it in him...the beautiful childlike wonder of movies like Hook and E.T and the incredible depth and insight of The Color Purple and Schindlers List, and just the artistry and subtle details. I love it!

I found that to be very interesting...
Because I was having a discussion a little while ago,
about how people with AS do not understand body language, and that they just do not "get it"... as I was told.
...And I was trying to explain how I would be a good director, because I can "direct" in my mind the way people interact, and the expressions they use- I just can't seem to make sense of it in real life, when I'm actually THERE in a situation.
And I was told because I can understand body language in film, and I can imagine what people would do in a hypothetical situation, then I must not have Asperger's Syndrome.
I do not think I have difficulties following movies.
But it seems to be different, then trying to figure out what is happening in real life.
When you are watching a movie, the movie is structured so it is obvious what the characters are doing.

I seem to be seeing double; musta got up too early...

Anyway, I seem to recall a quote from Spielberg's mother along the lines of:

"I didn't know he was a genius...in fact, I didn't know what the hell he was!"

That does sound Aspie, doesn't it?

I LOVE watching the list of famous aspies unfurl. It's fascinating.
I remember reading a biography of Andy Warhol, a long time before I'd ever heard of Asperger's, and thinking, "Wow, he's a... person like me."

Oh ok. That makes sense. I did some research and found some material mentioning the possibility that Spielberg had AS:

here

and here

I also found an article stating that Spielberg wanted to direct Mozart and the Whale.

BTW, I'm sorry if I sounded rude when I said that; it wasn't my intention. I was just confused about the fact that I couldn't find Spielberg's name there.

In one of my classes we watched an A&E "Biography" style program on steven spielberg.

I was thinking to myself, "darn, this guy is an aspie!" after seeing people talk about what he was like as kid.
