Hi, I'm getting some eye strain from using my computer; can anyone help? :)

I am on it for about 3 hours at a time and my screen is about 4 foot away from me.

I was getting eyestrain as well, my opthomologist prescribed a different kind of glasses to allow my eyes to relax. Do you wear glasses?

A trick I learned is to take a break every 15 minutes or so and focus on something near, then far, then near, then far, etc. This excercise helps avoid lazy focus and keeps them strong and healthy.

I've found my LCD seems to give me far less eye strain then the CRT at work, could be just me though. The breaks posted above really work well as I do that at work all the time.

Brightness/contrast? Glare guard? Refresh rate? etc...

Breaks are good, you're apparently meant to have a 15 minute break every 45 minutes or so (not that I ever do). Probably the same things that have already been suggested, like the glare of your screen can be realllyy bad on your eyes and if it's too bright that's no good either. Having even lighting in the area also helps because there's less reflection off the screen.
