Google's entry into operating systems, browsers. and mobile products might very well be the sort of
healthy competition that Micro$haft needs in order to clean up its act.

Problem is that neither of them are really trustworthy. Google got its seed money from a CIA front company (their operation is a boon for the CIA who can just pay to access the data Google collects on users. Microsoft wants global domination, and I put no trust in their sense of consumer privacy.

The Android OS that's on a lot of phones (ie the Motorolla Droid) is a Linux distribution developed by Google, and it's already the iPhone's main competitor. Making their own phones would just cut out the middle man. I don't really see them getting back into desktop systems any time soon though, as gOS wasn't nearly as successful.

My mistake. Apparently a lot of websites reported this incorrectly, as gOS advertised including a lot of Google software. You're right though, it wasn't made by Google.

Is there anyone on earth who can talk that doesn't have a PHONE yet?
There are more phones than people on this planet.

I'm still wondering if Google will become a 3G or 4G Provider. If not they will still have to depend on a provider. (Verizon)

WHY?
I still have a copy of one of the first and best internet phone software.
It was able to call regular phones. Around 1998 I think.
I don't remember how it received calls, because we used it to make calls for free.

THEN SOMEONE BOUGHT THE RIGHTS AND STARTED CHARGING FOR USING IT.
