I think my myopia number is somewhere between -11 and -12 diopters. I started wearing glasses in grade 1 (age 6).

My eyesight is actually quite normal. Quite so, that my optomatrist told me to get rid of my glasses, three months, ago.

Not good. Even with my glasses on my vision is not 100%. I've been meaning to get new lenses but it's one of those things I keep forgetting to do.

My family doesn't know that I have a poor vision. I used to wear contact lenses because I had hyperopia. I thought my eyesight is improving but when I had an eye checkup last month, and the doctor said that I'm developing myopia. WOW! Is that possible?.. Right now, I'm wearing Pinhole glasses. I can take them off after two years and could have a better vision.

I'm short sighted. My right eye is - 0.05 and my left eye is -1.00 so i mostly wear glasses for reading things in the distance when I'm travelling or watching the TV

not sure about the precise terminology here...

eye doctors always told me that my right eye was fine. 20/20.
but my left eye was pathetically nearsighted. 20/100+
I can't focus on anything beyond six inches with my left eye.

So I wear glasses that only have a corrective lens on the left side.
the right side is just plain glass.

I can't stand contacts, so glasses were the only option.

I also got my first pair of glasses at age 6 after a teacher had moved me to the front of the class and said something to my mother. Without correction, I think my vision is something close to "legally blind". My left eye corrects to 20/20, and I have trifocals. My right eye can only be corrected to 20/40 now that I have epiretinal membranes growing and causing squiggly vision -- flag poles are beginning to look like the letter "S" -- and I have trouble with floaters. I also have "computer glasses" that only have the closeup and arm-length lenses, and I have another pair just like them at work for when I am welding.

It's okay. Before I was prescribed glasses, I could see just fine but now that I've had them for years, I can't really do much without them. I tried. It wasn't pretty.

Oddly enough, my vision is perfect.

However, strong light hurts my eyes though so I always wear sunglasses outdoors (helps with the shyness as well).

No idea about a number... I've worn glasses since I was about 15. I can't see much beyond 10 feet without them.

I started wearing glassed when I was 10 because of an operation on my left eye that went wrong. I have astigmatism, which makes the vision in what would otherwise be my good eye (right) bad and the vision in my left even worse. My glasses aren't THAT thick, but the difference in thickness of individual lenses is noticable, hence why I prefer to wear thick "emo" glasses.
