I read somewhere on the 'getting to know each other' forum, someone mentioned that creative aspies probably have a better connection to the right side of their brains. This set me off thinking. How many creative aspies here are left handed?

I am a chronically "creative"..non-mathematical...right-brained left-handed person.
When I was little I was really into science and fact collecting...but my brain is just very set-up for right-brained-ness....I am cross-dominant for a lot of things though....like hand-sewing and um...with most sports I never knew which arm or leg to use...I am equally good or bad either way.....in some ways it seems both sides of my brain are pretty dysfunctional...

You didn't put an option for ambidextrious, so I couldn't answer. I write with my right hand only because I had a teacher who taught everyone right handed, so I learned it. If I'd have been left alone, I would have been a lefty though, but now I can do anything with either hand.

Erp, I'm sorry. That was very forgetful/dumb of me.

I am left handed with aspergers syndrome. My left side of my body is very dominant. I get somewhat disoriented when I cover my left eye.

I am very good with science, mathematics, and engineering. I have an uncanny memory for facts and figures. But I am also very good at creative things like drawing, poetry, and music.

I am sometimes passionate about both creativity and logic, and sometimes passionate about neither. I broke my right arm twice when I was young and was able to write with my left hand no problems, though I definitely favour my right side. Like Poopylungstuffing - when playing sport neither my left or right side stood out as the obvious choice to go with. Both felt equally awkward and it seemed to always frustrate both the teacher and the other people in the class.

Anyhow, I think that my favouring of the right hand is indicative of my choice to allow logic to rule most of my thoughts, but my left hand is always 'latent' and ready to take over just like the bubble of creativity within me that sometimes longs to burst out.

I draw and I'm left handed. :3
But I have an ASD friend who is left handed and hates doing creative things.
She is more like an animal though, so I'm not surprised because I don't know any creative animals personally.
Hey, what do animals do with the left and right sides of their brain? Does anyone know?

I have an interest in music, fictional writing, ceramics, and occasionally arts and crafts. I draw and write with my left hand. However, I can use scizzors with any hand. Also in racquet sports (one of the few kinds of sports I play) I can use any hand, but my right hand seems a little better. I used to be entirely ambidextrous, though, until 6th grade. When writing my assignments, I would constantly swith back and forth between both hands until my teacher told me to stick with one hand. That's how I became left handed.

Im right handed and creative. My dad is left handed/ambi though and probably not that creative, more of a strategiser.
