I love miracles - especially when doctors are there but can't explain.

Just because we do not know the cause of this event is no reason to assume it is a miracle, that we do not know does not equate to god did it

Well, miracles are miracles - explained by human kind or not.
In my opinion, of course.

I agree. Regardless of whether or not it was science or religion, what's important is that a family has the chance at a life together - and that's truly amazing.

It is amazing indeed.

Calling something a miracle can also mean it's something we can't (yet) explain; it doesn't necessarily imply God.

Collins Cobuild dictionary gives the following definitions for 'miracle':

Quote:
1. a wonderful and surprising event that people believe was caused by God.
2. a very surprising and fortunate event.

Depends on how you define 'dead'. There are a number of different definitions of 'dead'/'death':
Quote:
The end of life. The cessation of life. (These common definitions of death ultimately depend upon the definition of life, upon which there is no consensus.)
Another definition of 'death' is:
Quote:
the cessation of all vital functions, traditionally demonstrated by "an absence of spontaneous respiratory and cardiac functions."

According to the latter definition, they were dead.

I tend to agree, and the story says it is the father claiming the miracle "after his wife and newborn baby *apparently* came back from the dead" (emphasis added) even though medical staff were still attending to the mother and the baby did have a heartbeat. Nevertheless, “Doctors at [the hospital] said there was no logical explanation for the recovery of the mother or her baby.”

Either way, congratulations to the dad, eh?!

It seems the mother was feeling "tired" while she was nearing delivery, then she evidently "passed out" or seemed to have died or whatever and CPR was begun (and continued all the way along) even after the baby had been removed from her womb. So then, it might have been the stimulation of CPR that restarted her heart, and the news article reports the baby was "limp with a slow heart rate" when it came around.
