I didn't even watch it last night.

I don't get what makes it so damn interesting; it's a ball...it drops.

Big f*cking deal...

Besides, I watch people "drop the ball" all the time

The only New Years celebration i watch is our local one at the Space Needle. It's the best one.

I never quite understood holidays which were exclusively date-related. Birthdays and New Year's are the two big ones. You celebrate the fact that it's been a consistent but ultimately arbitrary number of days since the last time you celebrated the same thing.

While it's nice to reflect back on the last arbitrary length of time and consider the future, you can pick any point in time and do that, whenever you feel like it. I guess the thing about New Year's is that it's a designated time when everyone else is doing the same thing, and you can share your thoughts about a common length of time.

My friend and SO interrupted our Firefly marathon to watch.
I humored them because it's a dumb thing to be annoying about. Plus, my SO wanted to kiss me after it dropped soo it's a fair enough compromise. :)

I just like to watch the last 5 minutes or so.

My clock is usually wrong, so it's nice to have a good idea of when 12:00 actually is.

That's what I thought but then it could also be typical NT crowd behavior like they do at concerts. I asked my parents who were also watching why they were screaming and she said it was because they were excited. I don't scream like that when I'm excited. I was so excited when I went to see The Lion King on Broadway I thought I was going to throw up, but I sure didn't scream like that.

You know you're an Aspie if... you watch the ball drop to get an accurate time.
You can get that info on the internet year-round, though.

Now you've got me imagining all my friends hovering over my computer, looking at the little clock in the corner, shouting "FIVE, FOUR..." right in my ear @_@
