I'm not talking about "Nu Metal" or "Metalcore". I'm talking about Tradition, NWOBHM, Thrash, Black, Doom, Power, Speed, Death, Viking, ect. All styles but the new crap ones, that aren't even really heavy metal.

I listen to a fair amount of all the styles you mentioned and enjoy plenty of music from each - including the supposedly crap ones.

All-time favourites include Metallica, Opeth (especially early Opeth - I loved their early bassist, unpredictable shifts and counterpoint melodies), Khanate, Melvins, Black Sabbath, Venom, Sunn O))), Neurosis, Iron Maiden and Sepultura. I am currently making a top 100 of black metal and related albums + EPs and currently am at 85 albums.

Nice. I enjoy Venom and Sepultura's old stuff, but can not get into their new stuff. I like Sabbath and love Maiden. Are you going to see Iron Maiden on tour? They are having a tour soon and I'm going, even if I have to go on foot.

I tend to appreciate instrument mastery so it seems natural to me that I gravitate to classical orchestra and heavy metal :) Other people think that's weird, but I submit that they are the weird ones.

I'm not really in the right place to see them, but I would see them if I could.

I haven't even heard Venom's music beyond At War With Satan, nobody's ever given me a good reason to. Same with Sepultura after Roots, with the exception of Dante XXI which was OK but nothing special.

when I think industrial metal I think more along the lines of Powerman 5000, ministry, and still life decay.
