well, met with the speech dept head yesterday, and the long and the short of it is this~ wait until she's 8 to have testing done....the test isn't normed until she's 8. she did suggest, however, that we could probably get the school to let her use earplugs at those times that are excessively loud. ( they've been very accomodating so far). we're going to try earplugs at home first~i don't want to burden the teacher with having to try to get them in our daughters' ears...hope that she'll be able to get them in by herself...hope that they work........am going to experiment with them tomorrow to see if they make any difference for her~ no sense in asking for an intervention that doesn't work :wink:
