Who knows a lot about stereo systems and bass?
For those of you who do, what kind of bass do you prefer to have amplified?
For those of you who do not, 50 Hz bass is the kind of bass that provides the foundation for shaking the floor and all, and, when boosted, can provide the illusion of more bass without interfering with the highs and mids.
100 Hz bass does not shake the floors as well and interferes with the mids and highs more than does 50 Hz bass, but can be helpful when trying to squeeze big bass out of bookshelf speakers.
100 Hz is technically still considered Low Midrange. A lot of the real 'hit' that you feel from the bass is usually centered in the 50-80Hz Range. For REALLY low Bass, though You may find these interesting
