isle.
I think you misspelt aisle.

Maybe they shop at a chain... island! (both links)

That's funny. I meant aisle.

Asp-z remember the model by the wheels? incredible. I am surprised he hasn't memorized all of the different types of trains. He is more interested in building them and seeing how they work. Trains are still his thing. Doesn't help that I want to get into it and we are going to get involved in a train hobby group (so very excited). I think Nate's memory is more visual than auditory but then he blows me away by telling me something that was said a few years ago.

Angelbear - sounds like Nate. It's all on their own time.

Nate got an academic award in school. He thought it was going to be a citizenship award because he helped the teacher pick up something gross. Cute.

Memory for facts, names and dates....

.....To all who do that, so not fair. I am completely opposite. I seem to remember everything about someone via conversation, where they were standing, sitting, where they were when they said something but can never remember names and dates. I blame it on my ADHD, poor working memory. I have a horrible memory for facts unless I know a lot about that certain fact to tie it to something. So, I either know a lot about something or nothing.

My husband can remember practically everything factual but doesn't remember conversations at all. People tell me it's a guy thing; perhaps it's also an aspie thing (personality thing)? When he talks, it's usually something important. When I talk, a lot of times it's just rambling on and on about something - really not truly important stuff. It's probably hard for him to know what's truly important, poor guy.

I hear ya sister. Try having AS and ADHD. I can remember chunks of information. By chunks of information I mean....when I learn something I can pick out certain things in point form to remember them. I don't have a very good long term memory like people with AS. Maybe with things like art and photography but I struggle with things like science and history. I'm no good with names or dates. I get dates mixed up all the time.

Not sure what to say about this. Excellent memory seems to be common in autistics.
So true.
