In all seriousness, it is wise to be careful. Women are raped by casual acquaintances all the time. It's better to be careful than to suffer a trauma and then have people tell you that you "should have known".

Yeh, but the effects of having guys come onto you all the time can have lasting effects. Like if you're naive like a lot of AS girls are. It's a problem for them, because they eventually have to develop defenses against it, so may become more shy around people.

We're basically talking about mind blindness, not unfriendliness .. :)

Yeah. What's the harm in getting to know someone a bit before being alone in your apt or their apt together? None.

What's the harm in inviting a complete stranger back to your apartment? The odds are in your favor, but if the person does happen to harm you, you'll have no witnesses, and people will say, "You should have known better."

Is it really such a hassle to hang out with a person you met at random in a public place or amongst a group of people before you spend time alone together?

I'm not advocating any extremes here. Just a tiny bit of patience.

If you hang out with someone you just met (and not through mutual friends) alone at your place or theirs, you've got to admit that at least one of you is being impatient about something. And acknowledge the risk, should you choose to take it.
