Mac OSX 10.4.11 and support

I was going to ask a question. I have as iMac G4 that I will be giving to my Mom. Has a 800MHz PowerPC CPU, 384MB Ram and a 40GB Hard Drive. I have installed OSX Tiger on the system as well as iWork 2009. She currently has a Dell Inspirion with WinXP and a late model HP Printer. Would the HP Printer she currently has support Tiger. Also would her late model 80GB Hard Drive sync if she has her library on a 500GB External Drive. I told her that the Apple is old however she still wants to use it. Apparently it will be better than her current Windows experience.

Yes, HP printers work fine under OS X. Drivers for hard drives should not be a problem at all either.
