I have an 8-inch magnetic version of it on the back of my car. But I have it there, not for me (debatable whether or not I have AS) but so everyone can at least see the word "Autism" and find out what it means.

I would love to see that on a poster

I might make a more detailed one. I wanted to have an outline of a brain and have each heading in it's rightful place. I just wish I had more patience.
I also think I'll design a colour key so I don't have to cut through the text.

I like Callista's, and puzzle pieces could be added, but not disrupt the rainbow. I like the closed ribbon, too.

I absolutely hate the one for the vote. I hate it enough for 20 people.

I don't mind the ribbon, the only thing I really don't like is this:

It seems to represent Autism Speaks to me, so no, I don't like it.

Funny. The Autsim awareness ribbon has more character than other ribbons, yet despite being something that could be seen as positive, it's viewed by some to be offensive and distasteful.

I find it fairly ironic just how well it represents autism. I like it.

The ribbon has nothing to do withautism speaks at all! They use 1 plain blue puzzle piece.

The origins of the autism puzzle ribbon aren't exactly known, but from what I can gather, the "puzzle" originally referred to "solving the puzzle of autism"--that is, finding the cause and finding a cure.

I am a fine artist. I like the gentle transitions of color of the rainbow. The patchwork of colors, for me, is too herkey-jerkey, simple primary colors; it looks like a cheap amature's cartoon. It comes across simple, childish, I don't like thouse qualities applied to us, or me. It is a visual representation of us. It definitely doesn't represent me. I'll never wear it. I mean whatever the majority wants, wear what ever you want, it isn't life or death, of course. But I like the rainbow, which is also great for gays, too; closing up the end takes it somewhere else, but can easily transition that many are gay, too, which is convenient for our gays, but we can use the spectrum too. Closing up the end sets us apart from the other multitude of ribbons. The closed figure eight is also a spiritual image/symbol, symbolizing eternity.

I can write another paragraph on the sideways eight symbol and the profound things it means (historically etc.) but I'll spare you that.

The hell with Autism Speaks, too. We could still use a puzzle, somehow. Use it better than they do. When people see their's, they will of ours, not the other way around.

Lynn
