I've kept it secret from them for years, and I'm too afraid to tell them. I feel like after they know the truth, they will look back and think "so thats why he acted this way/that way in that situation". Like my being an aspie will somehow be misinterpreted in some past situations, when I wasn't displaying any typical aspie behaviors at all.

I likely will never tell them. I have no real incentive to tell them anyway. It's not like they suspect something. I just feel that I'm lying to them somehow.

I don't tell anyone either I have AS. I am just too embarrassed to tell anyone. If they ask, I will tell them. I'll figure they know enough about the condition they actually picked up on it.

I agree with you - if they knew much about the condition, they would probably pick it up. I haven't told my parents either though, because I approached the subject once with them and they shot it down instantly saying they would know if I had Asperger's Syndrome, but I am fairly sure they don't know what it really is...

My friends know. I don't think it's good to hide things from friends. My friends don't look at any of my behviour as autistic, though much of it is. And I do feel comfortable that they know and I can sometimes talk about it.
