i believe there is purgatory and "outer darkness" but i don't believe there is an extracorporeal hell. there are hells on earth surely, and they are-

1] suffering caused by humans being actively inhumane to other humans;
2] suffering caused by natural disasters combined with lack of recovery/comfort resources [in haiti, for example]
3] suffering caused by folk tormented by anguished consciences over past wrong doing towards others that cannot be atoned-for in the current lifetime for whatever reasons;
4] suffering caused by failure to meet expectations, ones own or of others;

purgatory and outer darkness are bad enough. no need for mankind to have "invented' hell to keep the peasants in line, life does a good enough job by itself keeping people down.

My version of Hell is being forced to live with Gentiles for all eternity.

Fortunately when one dies, it is lights out and all over.

I don't believe in hell but if it existed it would be walking around in a mall, shopping for clothes. Forever.

A seperation of joy and peace, and being in a crowded confined space with a butt load of angry, selfish humans and mocking, violent demons, and where I can't see a dam thing while they endlessly bug the W%^ out of me, and whine when I don't make them happy. To put a cherry on my hell pie, add the endless guilt and feelings of worthlessness factor. eeewww.. Yeah, that would do it for me.

LETTER FROM THE WARMER REGIONS

This guy in the other pit.
He's got a better demon than me.
His can taunt with a sharper wit.
Mine's mind is weak, I must admit.

Frank, over there, gets the common stuff.
Acid drip, disemboweling, a bit of frying.
You'd think these things were too rough,
But demons do their best by trying.

Sometimes my guy makes things fall off.
An ear, my nose, a nipple or a toe.
I've lost one lung - which makes me cough.
And other things. That's how things go.

But this process is a losing game.
(Pardon the pun) I've had to grow them back.
My demon's required to make me blind or lame.
His torturing suffered for the lack.

The first millennium can be a trial.
But you can accommodate to anything.
The red hot knives, freezing cold, drowning
Can, at first, evoke screams, make you sing.
But, after a century or so, brings only frowning.

My demon and I, between torture sessions,
Now entertain ourselves by playing chess.
Neither he nor I retain any aggressions
And he dislikes cleaning up the mess.

Very catchy, though. :)

A poem from Sand topic

Very well put. I will keep it along with The Cremation of Sam McGee

When did I ever say I did not like Gentiles? I just do not want to spend forever with them.

When you said spending an eternity with them is your idea of Hell!

Its kinda pretty from a distance:

jk, I can't say it fits 'hell', but I get the feeling its about the steepest pain to pleasure ratio we'll see. Of course most of us have the power to harness our will and make the most of our existence if we can get enough fire to show that we really want it - I'm living that life right now and hope I don't stop for a long time. Even without free will, who's to say what the future is, we don't know, maybe if I say things like that and it inspires you to be your best that you were predestined to be inspired at this moment and go all out for the quality of your life since the big bang. Warm fuzzy thoughts :).

ruven is right. His god states that only Jewish people matter.

All others are cattle who must bow down before their Jewish masters.

Do you doubt this? I would be happy to quote MANY passages from the Torah and the Talmud to prove my point.
