Normally, movie adaptations of video games are terrible, but there are a few that do the games justice, such as my personal favorite...

Street Fighter II: The Animated Movie. It stayed very, very close to the Street Fighter II video game, and was a kick ass action movie all on its own. Its one my favorite animated films, and it truly proves that not all video game movies suck.

So which one(s) is/are your personal favorite(s)?

Actually, I agree with you as long as we are including animated movies. So far the best I have seen is the SFII animated movie. Alpha wasn't bad either, but the first is the best.

My personal favorite is Super Mario Bros. :oops: I don't know why, I just always thought it was really awesome.

Mortal Kombat. The techno soundtrack is brilliant. And it's got whatshisname as Raiden.

I liked it too, but most others think otherwise.

If it counts, maybe Pokemon the First Movie, might also say the second, but the first is more likely an adaption to the games as Mewtwo's story was present in Red/Blue/Yellow.

Maaan Super Mario Bros, not a great movie but I love the style of it. Also used to scare me as a kid.

The best would easily have to be Silent Hill.

I love them all. The worse and more absurd they are, the more I like them. Especially Double Dragon and House of the Dead. :lol:

"Best video game movie", isn't that something of an oxymoron? :E

Whatshisname = Christopher Lambert

I loved Mortal Kombat as a kid but, like every movie I loved during childhood, it disappointed me in adolescence/adulthood.

Personally I really enjoy did enjoy Street Fighter 2(live action), bthoug it really was completely inaccurate to the video game but then again with movies back then the most technolologically advance form of production technique was bluescreen so you really couldn't get in Ryu and Ken's spirit(if that's what those balls were) bombs, much less M. Bison's electrified flight. If they did a remake of it would definately wait in line and shell out 14 bucks a pop to see it in theatres. They could do it such justice thanks to CGI. Wait, the aforemrntioned live action and the animated one a few have commented on in this thread, were they both based off of SFII:TWC?

Anyways also loved, llllloooooooooooooooovvvvvvvveedddd, both MK movies nad P:TFM.

I also love TMNT, the original live-action from '90, but niether of the sequels, stilll have yet to even see the CGI animated one from three years ago and probably won't bother to.

The CGI one actually isn't that bad, certainly a lot better than the third movie was. It even has nods to the previous movies, which I wasn't expecting at all.

Only thing lame is that Donnie and Mike are almost non-existant, I think Donnie had like one line, and Mikey had maybe three. Most of the movie is another telling of the whole Raph going "Leo is the leader and I'm jealous so I'm going to be his rival and go fight crime by myself."

BTW, the TMNT movies are based on comic books, not videogames ;)
