It's hard to categorize every single belief into a single spectrum, so this poll may have some overlap, but just select the option which best identifies your political views.

I had to settle for "very conservative" since there isn't a "fanatical right wing ultra-nationalist" category.

The existence of governments is commensurate with the lack of justice that humans show to each other. If we were decent and fair with each other, we would not need governments at all.

Government = the failure of human morality.

I voted undecided. Simply because - until recently I considered myself a moderate libertarian. Lately I've made a strong swing liberal on the economic side, strongly against a corporatocracy in America and strongly in favor of business and protectionist trade regulations.

I don't have a fancy label for my thoughts yet.

I am center-right. I vote Republican because I support smaller government. Also, I lean toward libertarianism, and would allow same-sex marriage and marijuana, even though I wouldn't smoke weed or marry a dude, but I feel that people should be able to have choices.

I wonder what this effort is to determine political, religious views is all about? What are your views on high heel shoes, motorcycles, baked beans, Mickey Mouse, broccoli, the tuba as a creative instrument and what will happen to marshmallows exposed to high vacuum and intense solar radiation?

  • high heel shoes: Better on women
  • motorcycles: Loud.
  • baked beans: Edible but I wouldn't seek it out. I don't eat pork and beans because I don't eat pork (not for religious reasons). Beans can give you flatulence, though, and who wants that?
  • Mickey Mouse: Kids' stuff.
  • broccoli: As a vegetable, it's better than Brussels sprouts or asparagus. I'd eat it in, say, pasta con broccoli.
  • the tuba as a creative instrument: Fine by me.
  • what will happen to marshmallows exposed to high vacuum and intense solar radiation? I don't know, but my religious beliefs inform me that the marshmallow will burn up and explode, its soul ascending into Heaven.

That was enlightening!

Liberal.

Though in time the definition of liberal may change just as is once did with other political labels.

what political category is a person who [otherwise] falls under the category of "very liberal" but sees folly in gun-control legislation?

Civil libertarian (ie extremely liberal on social issues). I guess more or less centrist or center-right on economic/fiscal issues, though I might be farther left on some particular points.

Still liberal, though maybe you also have some libertarian leanings.

Practical. Ditching that political albatross would probably swing more independent votes to the Democrats than anything else they could conceivably do.
