Black people must leave, NJ Walmart announcer says

Sounds like a rogue customer pulling a prank, I wouldn't be surprised if it turned out to be a former employee. I'm not sure why it made the national news though, perhaps it's a slow newsday.

I also suspect it was a prank; because if not, Walmart would be facing a huge lawsuit right about now. :lol:

I thinking it was a prank by a customer or an angry ex employee. Youtube has some videos of people making prank annoucements over the public- address in places like Walmart, Kmart etc...........

Definitely a customer's prank.

There's a fair few videos on YouTube of people getting on the intercom and doing random stuff, including the infamous "Baby Got Back" Wal*Mart intercom prank.

*Manager is escorting kid out*
Kid: "I'm sorry."
Manager: "You're sorry? Sorry for what?"
Kid: "For liking big butts."

It was a bogus announcement and whoever got on the loud speaker asked black persons in the store to leave the store, not New Jersey.

Either way it was very insulting and the management of that store should have their arses kicked for letting an unauthorized announcement go out over their loud speaker.

Anybody can do this pretty much. All you have to know is the the number to call on one of those store phones which you can probably find pretty easily online.

Sounds like a prank, and it's only national news because it involves race.

I'm not racist and I think the person who made the announcement should have to deal with the consequences but I still find the whole thing quite humorous.

Look closely next time you're in Wal Mart. Notice those phones with all the buttons on some of the posts? Punch the right code, and bingo you're in the storewide PA system. It's a little TOO easy to use. The codes, of course, are standardized and likely available online. If Wal Mart was changing the codes regularly, it wouldn't be a problem, or if one could only access the PA system from areas exclusive to employees, like cashier stations and manager areas. But they don't. I think it was a customer who knew the code. It was probably a Jackass-style prank, and video will show up online soon. That's what Wal Mart gets for making their systems simple enough for the Mexicans working there to use, who of course all have fourth grade educations. If they do get a white guy, he isn't much better.

A sixteen year old kid was arrested today for making that bogus announcement in the Walmart Store. He will be charged with trespass and disturbing the peace. In the mean time the management has put the microphones for the p.a. system under lock and key so this will not happen again anytime soon.
