I used to have only a few primary interests, but I've been learning as much as I can recently.

Ahh Hellsing! How can you lose such an interest? There is room for both Johnny and Alucard in your life surely?

My interests shift around quite a bit. Partially, because my boyfriend gets me interested in different things once he can get my attention long enough to get me to listen, lol.

I always have things I like, for sure... but some days I like them more than others. One day I will want to read up on everything to a movie plot over and over while watching that movie over and over... one day I'll read everything I can find on crimes and such... some days it's an obsession about autism... some days it's video games... some days drawing... it really just depends, but any time I'm obsessing over something, regardless of what it is, others can always tell because I'm really cranky if they even say "hi" to me while I'm busy with it, lol.

i have one interest that sticks (research) but the others are what i called fads. they last between 2-3 weeks to a few months. i often am not really into that particular subject per se, but just trying to find out as much info about them as possible.

Mine almost always lead into one another. I would discover something through, say, my interest in the Pacific War, and then eventually kind of fall out of love with the Pacific War and just focus solely on this new thing. And that cycle has repeated itself several times, with my interests getting narrower and narrower.

On a kind-of-related note: has anyone just sort of... forgotten their past interests? Like completely? When I was younger, I would be able to rattle off any useless number you could think relating to WWII (dates or casualty stats or whatever else), but now I really can't remember any of what I knew just a few years ago. I find that really, really discouraging, and it makes me feel like whatever I'm interested in now is just a complete waste of time, because I know that I'll eventually grow tired of it, forget about it, and that it'll soon be like this part of my life basically never happened.

This is just like me.

When I was younger I bounced between several things ( five or six), that would take me through the year. Then a new year would come along and the cycle would start all over. Now I have four things that take up most of my time.

To be honest, I'm not sure why I keep forcing myself to stop obsessing over it, because deep down there's a part of me that still loves it very much. Maybe you're right; maybe I don't have to give up Hellsing just because I love Johnny Depp movies...

Your Alucard is quite handsome! :D TheDoctor82 is wrong, he isn't creepy at all, and he certainly doesn't remind me of Persephone Numbers Station. I can't wait to see Alucard in costume! Please show me when you're finished!

I have no idea who Persephone Numbers Station is, but I assure you I am going to look it up right now! NAd I will certainly be posting Alucard in costume at some point, I hope!
...

Oh, I just watched that video- how does Alucard even compare to PNS? That was just strange and annoying!! !!

Yup.
I have only for a very short time been interested in something productive (mathematics) and now I am interested in breeding Pokemon and creating a good team.
I also am watching Pokemon episodes from the Indigo League.

Sometimes I get over an interest, try something new, only to go back to that interest. Actually lately I've been obsessing about astronomy. I seem to only be able to put all my attention into one interest at a time. Before astronomy I was drawing and attempting to write stories. I've totally forgotten about band photography too.

I have lots of interests, but because my attention span is poor and I get bored easily, I find myself going from one to another. If I have done something once, it's likely that I won't feel like doing it again for a while.
