Be careful, who you trust.

A good friend is someone who knows how to tell you to shut up when you talk too much.

Be conservative in what you do; be liberal in what you accept from others.

Slap anyone who thinks that statement has literal political connotations. :P

Just be yourself.

The surest way of avoiding disappointment is to have low expectations.

This is what I have learned my self.
Most people are unreliable and can't be counted on , even for little things , and I plan a worse case scenario as an alternate.

Once I admonished an in-law about this , as opportunity presented, and the remark was " That's cynical".
My in-law gets bent out of shape to large degree when people dont line up to expectations or 'the plan'.

You are your memories combined with what you learn. Choose carefully, my friends. Time is finite, but you should still plan on living 1.5[current average expected lifespan for your demographic]. Choose your habits carefully. Quantify pleasure and risk.

One can be wise and still a hedonist.

Don't brag. Nobody likes a bragger. Always be humble.

Don't take your health for granted. Look after your body while its condition is still something you can control.

Having friends online is just as great as having friends in real life.

Giving something back to yourself even though you don't really need it at the time, makes you more happy in the long run.

People have bad days, don't let that discourage you from talking to the person another time.

If you have negative thoughts in your head, try listening to more music to block out those thoughts.

People are actors. Half truths and whole lies are much more common than what people like to think. Rarely is the truth acceptable, especially if it's negative. Telling people what they want to hear instead of what they need to hear is a great way to get on that person's good side. This is especially truth when it comes to getting ahead in work or school.
