Ok, you know the sensory issue some of us have, where you don't hear well over background noise, the different sounds meld into one or drown each other out?
What is the proper medical word for it??
I know it's usually called 'ambient deafness' but this seems to be a slang word, I can't find it in any medical literature on the net...

Is that the same thing as when your hearing suddenly ceases- I mean everything just tunnels in and you ant hear anything for a few seconds to a minute, and then it comes back?

hhhmmm... no, I think that's something different. I experience the background noise issue but not everything going silent. Sometimes things will get muffled, but I didn't think that was part of the same issue. Dunno.
