My birth was fairly normal, except I was two weeks overdue. >_>

My son was born 15 weeks early, weighed 2 pounds and was in the hospital for 82 days. He was on steroids, antibiotics, antivirals, caffeine, TPN, several blood transfusions, was jaundice and had surfactant for his lungs, and was exposed to chicken pox. Lets' see...anything else? 8O

IMO...I think his language difficulty was from the hospital, I think the AS came from his genes and are 2 completely separate issues.

Research supports a link between traumatic birth and certain cognitive difficulties. There may even be a link between it and social anxiety. I wish I could find the study. I think it was the NE Journal of Medicine. I could probably google it. Anyway, thoughts?

The umbilical cord strangled me when I was born. I've read a few things saying that's linked to autism. Makes sense.
