Most of my taste in music comes from my parents, and I'm proud of that.

My mother saw a vintage car parked when we were on our way back from lunch, and she told me all about the car my dad once owned when they were young. Back then to open the windows you had to turn a crank, and I thought it was the same as the cranks that rolled windows up and down from when I was young, but mom said instead it would push the windows out like some of the windows in their house. And they always had to park it on a hill because that was the only way to get it to start.

Well it could be worse. My dad could have pushed it with his bare feet while shouting "Yabba-dabba-doo!"

I could give lectures on the detailed symbolism in Final Fantasy VII for hours, but I doubt anyone would really want to listen.

...Late in his life , when my dad was long the widower of my mother (They had legally separated in the 70s , but still saw each other a great deal .) I asked him , recalling the years when he was a sometimes-traveling-on-assignment TV producer/writer - " Did you ever , say , when you were out of town on an assignment and lonely/horny , not really seriously not wanting to be with my mother , but lonely/horny, say - ever cheat on Mom ? " .
His response: " That's not a nice question to ask " ! !! !! !! !! !!  :!:

My mom thinks those giant gaudy-looking inflatable ornaments people put on their lawns at Halloween and Christmas are creepy. She said she doesn't mind the Halloween ones because they're *supposed* to be creepy, but she doesn't like seeing big fat Santas or snowmen swaying around at night.

Funny thing is that's pretty well how I feel about those nutcracker dolls she brings out every Christmas. 8O

My mom was from Germany and was an animal lover. I inherited her love of animals, especially cats.

My dad is American of Italian descent.
