WHO are you following on 'Twitter'

I don't have a Twitter account, I use Blip instead - it's modeled after your Twitter and used by many compatriots of mine. But I decided on this just because from time to time some sites using Blip organize contests and entering online contests is an obsession of mine (does anybody else here have a similar hobby?). I follow the Maxwell House site and a Harlequin romances publishing house because they once organized said contests. That's all.

Just my gf. We went on twitter to help her find her missing cat. And never did anything else with the account.

And anyway, I dont follow all that well.

I spend a lot of time on the internet. Many hours a day. I follow many sites and post in a number of forums.

However I can honestly say that I have NEVER been to the Facebook site or the Twitter site. Not once. Not ever.

And here is an even bigger shock. I don't own a mobile phone and I have never sent anyone a text message.

I do send emails and I do call people on the phone. If they don't answer their phone then I will leave a message.

Quite often I will not answer my own phone. If I am eating my dinner or having a quiet evening then I do not want to be disturbed just because someone wants to talk to me.

Think about it. In years past people had butlers or maids to answer the door.
They would say "Mr Jones is not 'at home' "

Not "at home" did not mean that Mr Jones was not in the building.
It might mean that Mr Jones is wearing his slippers and is relaxing with a drink and doesn't want to be bothered by anyone.

In other words I value my privacy and only want to communicate with others when I choose to.

Being autistic means that I don't want to be bothered when I can avoid it.
