Link to Book (PDF format)

It was released in April and was written by a member of Wrong Planet.

It's a very interesting theory that, to me, makes a lot more sense than the Neanderthal theory.

Thoughts?

I have not read it. I think I have read a brief essay along these lines linked to from here and had a bit of a discussion about it with a couple of other posters (possibly with you?). As I recall I was a bit skeptical about the numbers cross-generationally, although I see in the Neandertal thread that the word "some" appears between "causes" and "Autism" in your description of this hypothesis, which would make me somewhat less skeptical. Anyway I am not entirely certain if it was the same theory, but if it is and the author is contending that some but not all Autism is caused this way, then off the top of my head I cannot find anything too wrong with it. I'll probably read the PDF over the next few days I suppose as my memory of the information (if indeed it is the same hypothesis) is rather vague and it was interesting reading.

I'm reading through it. It is very interesting. I'll have to re-read the Neanderthal theory. I forgot it.
WP is full of many hidden gems. I'm amazed at how the well author writes.

Well I'm confused straight off ....

It's called

Evolution, Autism and Social Change
A New Feminine Theory of Evolution
That Explains Autism

but it's written by a man?

The word is "feminine," not "feminist." :)

I think he's referring to "matrifocal society" when he says "feminine." There's a lot of open-ended ideas in the book, and some predictions about trends he'd expect to see happen if his theories are true.
