i dreamt i was in a neighbor's tin can, we all live in pofolks' "tin can city" - she couldn't work due to the coronavirus shutting her workplace down and hadn't gotten paid in weeks and ran outta fundage and was starving, she was desperate so she put her black mutt cat in the skillet with some oil and was about to fry and eat it, and i stopped her. the cat seemed happy sitting in the pan in the oil.

I dreamt Eleanor of Aquitaine (who isn't a specialist interest and I haven't seen/read anything with her in it for years and didn't even know if she was real til I googled) had an affair w her dad and her mum killed her for it.

I dreamed this morning that I arrived at home and found a finger in a mess of blood in the garage. In the dream, my younger brother was living with me and so I immediately started looking for him and found him with all fingers intact. I never figured out who's finger I found. One thing that went through my mind is that if someone cut off their finger and went to the hospital, they would take their finger with them so that it could be reattached.

Yikes!

As for the cat it knew it was getting a hot oil treatment that would make its coat all nice and shiny

I had a long, winding dream this morning. The only part I remember is going to visit a college somewhere and stopping at the cafeteria for something to eat. The cafeteria was in a large, featureless building with no windows anywhere.

There was a long line snaking around the cafeteria. It took a while just to find the end of the line. Every time I thought that I had found the end of the line, I would learn that I wasn't at the end.

I finally get to the front of the line and there are no cafeteria employees. It is all automated -- kind of like a 2020 version of the automap.

After getting your food, you took it upstairs to eat in the big dining room. After I eat, I go back and find out that the stairs are one way only -- up to the second floor. When you want to leave, you step onto a slide and it takes you down. In the middle of the slide was an air gap. There was some kind of ramp that would bump you up when you got to it so that you would land on the bottom section of the slide.

The bottom end of the slide would dump you outside the window.

The first thing I saw was a boy lying face down on a bed talking to a voice over. It was unclear where the voice was coming from. The boy had clearly being crying, because his eyes were sore and a little swollen, but he seemed to be holding back.

He asked the voice "Why can't I just give up? I mean, what's the point? Haven't we already lost? Can't I just accept that?"

There was a brief pause until the voice replied "If you and your friends are going to see Othello, then I'm afraid it's already over. No one makes it through that journey alive. Othello is death".

He stood up and walked to the middle of the room. I don't know where exactly the dream was taking place, it was a dull windowless room with only a dim light and a bed. The boy answered a tablet he was now inexplicably holding. He was in an online video call where a hidden figure named Othello asked him to come to the realm and to bring his friends.

For some reason, the dream then cut to me in an attic. I was mid conversation with someone and the dream is looking at me as if viewing from the outside of the scene. We're on about a photo (at first it's blank but then it magically altered to reveal two blonde girls arm in arm seemingly some stock photo) I'm holding in a photo-frame and I asked how the person (someone stood in the shadows with no descriptive features showing) how they knew I was thinking of this image. They said something about me just describing it well.

Back to the other story and now the boy is stood in a bluish grey hall with various tunnels departing from it. Seems to be underground and otherworldly. No one else is there, he doesn't seem to have brought any of his friends. The boy ran around this underground place with an incredibly high arching ceiling that had a smooth almost refined crystal-like appearance. Everything was bluish-grey. Mid-run he changes into me. No explanation, I'm just there now and he's gone. For no apparent reason a video appeared on one of the walls seemingly out of nowhere. A short video about how to be a good parent. I don't remember much about it, but there was a baby that was half-machine on one side of their body lost in a tall blue maze.

Anyway, shortly after that I found a room with a projector on the wall. When I walked in a recording started to play. Or at least, that's what I thought it was a first. Turned out that it was happening live. I was in a video call with Othello and some others, presumably the boy's friends. Othello addressed me but didn't mention the fact that I wasn't the boy. He appeared as a grim reaper type; a cloaked skeleton with a smugly amused voice. I saw him, panicked, and turn off my video feed because I don't want to give him the satisfaction of seeing me panicking.

Othello laughed gently. He said "Ah yes, I always knew you were a quiet soul. That's why I wanted you, but it isn't your time yet".

Then I woke up. 8O After a quick Google search, I learnt that Othello is the name of a Shakespearean tragedy. One I don't think I've read, so why my brain was thinking of that name I have no idea.

There wasn't much violence in this dream, but it did have its moments.

I dreamt that I was on a train that was heading north. The train's exterior was yellow and I was sitting close to a door. I was with a handful of other people (about six) all of whom were minding their own business.

The train stopped at a platform and only two other passengers boarded the train.

The new passengers revealed themselves to be both versions of my dad and were working together in this dream.

Description of "Good Dad": Thinning gray hair, glasses, physically fit, carrying a briefcase and dressed like an "old-school" train conductor.

Description of "Bad Dad": Thinning gray hair, glasses, morbidly obese, carrying a briefcase and dressed like a typical factory worker.

"Bad Dad" pointed at me and shouted to everyone, "Look at the kid! He's not man enough to think for himself! Whatever this spectrum is needs to stop!"

The train, as if on queue, stopped in the middle of the track. All of the passengers looked at me as if in a trance.

"Bad Dad" went on a profane rant that lasted several minutes and ended when "Good Dad" took a baseball bat and knocked his counterpart unconscious.

Everyone snapped out of the trance and I woke up.

potato dreams bring happiness. If you dream about a potato, it means that you have a flexible nature and this is the reason why others are happy to see you around. Small potatoes refer to matters of luck and love.

I was in a store trying on a dress or fancy outfit because my parents and brother and I were apparently going out to a fancy restaurant or something. I had this black dress on and when I looked in the mirror I suddenly looked thin. My mom was very pleased, but I was kind of shocked. And then as we leave a man said I looked skinny, which also pleased my mom but I told her skinny was an ugly world and it sounds like someone who is *too* thin. Then I remember being at home and then my brother tried to shoot me in the arm with a crossbow. It didn't touch my arm but caused a long rip to appear along the sleeve of my dress, like a run in a pair of pantyhose. I start throttling my brother like he was Bart Simpson and then my parents scold me for attacking my brother... who gets no trouble at all for shooting at me with an arrow! But I tell them that my dress is damaged and they don't seem to care. Then I go into the bathroom and the skirt of my dress, which seems to have gotten a lot longer, gets soaking wet in the toilet. And brown. :eew: My mother says she'll take the dress back to the store for a refund although I don't know how she can since it's ruined. I'm now happily wearing a pair of jeans and a t-shirt, but it looks like my parents and brother have gone without me and I'm in the house all alone at night. And then I see a creepy old man staring at me through the windows and I start screaming. Then my family is home and apparently the old man used to live at our house but came back because he just wants his collection of Yu-Gi-Oh! cards that he left behind.

A recurring theme in some of my dreams is that I’ll encounter one or both of my elementary-school friends, and either they really missed me and we try to be friends again, or for one reason or another, they hate me (I think what happened in reality is that they “outgrew” me. In fifth and sixth grade, they were starting to mature a little, but I wasn’t, and I think they just got tired of me). In the one I had last night, there was a length of time between when we were no longer friends and when we moved on to junior high, where we didn’t encounter each other as often. During that time, they would verbally take stabs at me and I would respond with minor physical violence (usually a light scratch or small bite), and then when we met again as adults, I was entirely the “bad guy,” in their view. One of them was even scared of me, and the other was very angry with me for upsetting her so.

Another dream last night involved me needing to run around in my underwear looking for a pair of pants to put on. I had to sneak over to the laundry room without letting anyone see that I had no pants on, then remembered I’d taken my clean laundry upstairs rather than leaving it in the laundry room like I thought I did, so I had to get back upstairs, again sneaking through at least one room with several people in it without any of them realizing I wasn’t wearing pants. (Why I didn’t at least leave my pajama pants on or put on the previous day’s pants while I was looking for a fresh pair, I don’t know.) That also seems to be a common theme in my dreams.

The last one... I don’t think anyone wants to know the details of. Suffice it to say, I really needed the extra rest, but really could have done without the dream.

I dreamed that I was a sports reporter trying to find something to cover during the pandemic. I was in a restaurant interviewing a guy who made custom baseball bats at a table and had to go to the restroom. I also had a small dog patiently sitting there as well. When I got back, the guy and my dog were gone and the table was cleaned off. After looking all over for my papers, camera, laptop, food, and my dog, a waiter told me that they had thought it was abandoned and threw it all in the trash. I dug through the trash and pulled it all out. They were putting not only scrapings of food in the trash, but also dumping water, coffee, juice, tea, ... as well and so the camera and laptop were permanently ruined. I found the dog in the trash can as well.

Oddly enough, something like this did happen to me about 30 years ago. I was at a certain barbecue restaurant in Houston. The restaurant had a secondary dining room behind the main dining room and I had been sitting there by myself reading The Economist when I had to go get more tea in the main dining room. I was only gone for about a minute, but when I returned I found that the table was cleaned off and the only thing there was The Economist magazine. I went back to the serving line and explained what happened and they made me a new plate of food.

^Sounds like the dream is the same metaphor as "throwing out the baby with the bathwater".

Maybe that's the issue: that you feel that you, or someone in your life, or society right now, or whomever, are somehow
"throwing out the baby with the bathwater".

i dreamt yet again that i was in a version of the hospital L & D unit i useta work in long ago, i was just wandering around from the breakroom around the rest of the joint, i saw deliveries happen all around me, other people were doing the work, i saw one room get thoroughly trashed, red all over the place, i asked a harried housekeeper passing by if she could attend to it, she tiredly replied that she would.
