They amaze me. Look at this one. The depth of the 3D image. The background is around 8 inches behind my computer screen - like my screen has got a big hole in it! Anyone fancy a swim? :lol:

I like to think that HFAs are experts at this. I don't know how many times I've done it with any random pattern to get the 3-D effect when I move my head.

Well, I've never ever been able to see them. It may be because I've got the most atrocious short sightedness... but I just don't think my brain is wired that way.

Yes, I can do these; it's a fire engine.

@Moog: lol, good one.

I like these okay, but I tend to really like stereoscopic photographs and movies and things better. Where it's two nearly identical images just juxtaposed to wear you can see a 3D image of it by crossing your eyes to where they overlap (or let them run parallel, it varies between how you set up the pics). Those are much neater.

Yes, it depends on whether you view it by relaxing your eyes and letting them fall more parallel relative to the screen, or actively cross them. xP This is often referred to as "cross-viewing" and "parallel-viewing", by stereoscopic imagery enthusiasts. ^^

Does that mean that people can see them popping out of the screen too then? For me the foreground is level with the monitor and the objects get progressively further behind the screen.

I love those things! It sometimes takes me a while to focus properly but once I see it it's in perfect focus and I can look around the image and see all the detail.

I really like the one you posted. It took me a long time to remember how to get it to work but it was so worth it once I got it.

I seem to remember seeing them as images coming out of the page, but this one I saw as going backwards like you said, a hole in my computer monitor. Maybe it's because it's on a screen because I've only ever tried the ones on paper, I used to have a book.

I was able to do it, in three seconds.

Nope. Couldn't see that one. I can rarely see them.

No, your screen really does have a big hole in it 8O

I can see them pretty easily. When I haven't looked for a while, though, I forget and do it the wrong way, thus ending up with it inverted.

I decided to search for more magic eye pictures and when I saw this I thought there was no way you could make one with words, but then when I saw it, I laughed really hard.
