So I went to the therapist today that I was talking about and told him about the situations and he said "These people are in fact ignoring you, they are not writing back and shortening their responses as a way of saying quit writing me".I thought that all along.

But why does everyone else I tell, tell me that they are probably busy and stuff?

people will usually say what they think you want to hear to avoid conflict and hurting your feelings.
it depends on what they're responding to. short responses don't always mean they aren't interested in conversation but if it starts to feel llike you're doing all the work and not getting any of your own pleasure out of interacting with the person, they probably aren't interested. i've learned this the hard way.
