I don't know whether to laugh or cringe at the Pope's comments. The man is so far out of touch with reality and human decency that he should be in an asylum for the criminally insane, not running the worlds biggest money making machine.

Well, given this pope was in the Hitler Youth I don't think he has that much moral authority. People say "oh, he was younger then", but he was old enough to know better, and as far as I'm concerned he never made a convincing apology for his craven cowardice back then. So why should I listen to the old fart now?

I tried looking for other sources besides the one you provided, and it seems to me that the only websites which say that are ones advocating left-wing agendas. I question the validity of these claims.

That way you don't have to take any responsibility of your own careless inability to stop employing dodgy priests!

i have some sympathy with the idea that much of human evil results from the influence of malevolent entities and a 'cancer consciousness' (aka satan).

However, he is implying that roman catholic priests are conduits for demonic possession and/or lucid collaboration far beyond what youd expect to find in the general population. Thats quite a bold thing for him to admit! - like his priests should be seeking spiritual guidance from regular people on the street.
