All the first four are great, but if I had to pick just one it'd be Master of Puppets.

If I wanted to win favor with the "troo" metal camp, I would say Justice. But if I'm really honest with myself, I'll have to go with the black album. Regardless of what the elitists say, it WAS a metal album. Besides, it was what ultimately introduced me to Metal.

My favourite Metallica albums are Master Of Puppets and ...And Justice For All. It's too hard to choose one over the other.

Yep that's the exact album that "introduced" me to metal too. I agree both that it is metal and that it is awesome. I like AJFA better, but not by much.

Self titled "the black album"

Funny fact courtesy of wikipedia "was remixed three times, cost $1 million, and ended three marriages."

The only ones I have are Master of Puppets and Ride the Lightning. I've no special preference.

The Black Album is the best, without question.

I thought Master of Puppets captured the Metallica sound perfectly. The songwriting on that album was baddass too.
