the closest i can come to actually making my own music is by drastically altering other folks' original recordings to better suit my own needs, by-

*altering tempi and/or pitch, in part or whole
*adding or subtracting instruments/soloists
*removing background noise such as crowd noise or hall rumble
*rearranging the order of notes or phrases
*substituting instruments/phrases/notes
*reconstructing some older monophonic recordings into true stereo by copying and pasting notes and phrases around the left-to-right stereo soundstage

my very rudimentary musical skills limit my actual instrumental musical input to isolated notes or phrases here and there.
